Riding Plan

OK so you've decided to go out and scrub a bit more off your tyres in the name of practice mileage for your forthcoming test (honest luv!!).

So where do you go ?

Some of us are lucky and have VERY understanding partners but we also realise that some are a bit more limited (sad but true). So you've got a couple of choices :-

1. Take the real mans option and do what you want and come back and face the music (usually a war dance) later!!
2. Maximise your time on good roads by using our Good Road Guide to find the roads with the biggest cheesy grin factor.

Remember we've gone to a lot of time, trouble and expense purely for the benefit of club members!!!! so take advantage of it.

You'll find that most of the roads avoid the major biking Mecca's for two main reasons:-

1. You all know where they are anyway (and if you don't now you soon will from talking to other members).
2. I personally get bored / frustrated / frightened by the standard of the vast majority of non-advanced motorcyclists.

That's not being snobbish but everyone has their own style / standard so why spend time on crowded roads with novices wobbling around and nutters carving you up and throwing bits of knee slider at you. The local Police will also frequent that type of road waiting to give points to the nutters they catch and ambulances to deal with the ones they don't.

You can get more enjoyment by riding at your own pace with like minded club members with the only variable being a challenging road.

The reason that we haven't organised them as route cards is that your allotted time scale (i.e. whether you are a man or a mouse) will dictate whether you formulate a route encompassing all the twisties into a mind numbing day out (and be a sound GEEZER) or, choose a direct route to one particular road if your time is limited (err pass the cheese).

Remember that the pace of modern life works to our advantage as recreational motorcyclists because it forces professional drivers to stick to the straightest / fastest routes. That leaves all the twisty stuff for us YAHOOOOOO.
